Ory Schneor - concert flutist and chamber music player - born in 1984 in Israel and is currently based in Europe (Vienna, Austria).
Prize winner of various competitions as The Alexander & Buono International Flute Competition (2nd prize, October 2011, New York), The International Haifa Flute Competition (3rd prize, November 2005, Haifa-Israel), Finalist in the lucrative Aviv Competitions in Israel (Dec.2011), The Buchman-Mehta School of Music Solo Competition for all woodwinds, brass & harp instruments (3rd prize, 2007, Tel Aviv-Israel) and The Buchman-Mehta School of Music Chamber Music Competition (as part of a woodwind quintet, 2nd prize, Tel Aviv-Israel).
Ory is currently serving as the assistant principal flutist of the Geneva Camerata in Switzerland (musical director David Greilsammer) and is a regular guest principal flutist of the Tongyeong Festival Orchestra (South Korea) and the Münchener Kammerorchester.
He performed in various professional and academy/festival orchestras such as Orchestra Mozart (founder Claudio Abbado), Orquesta Sinfonica de Madrid, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Spira Mirabilis, Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, Hulencourt Soloists Chamber Orchestra , Orchester Purpur (Austria/Croatia), Bühne Baden, Jakobsplatz Orchester München, Raanana Symphony Orchestra, Herzliya Chamber Orchestra, Ashdod Chamber Orchestra & “Yuval” Orchestra and choir and more under the baton of maestri Fabio Luisi, Alan Gilbert, Zubin Mehta, Christoph Eschenbach, Michael Sanderling, Jesus Lopez-Cobos, Adam Fischer, Zsolt Nagy, Thierry Fischer, Diego Matheuz, Olari Elts, Roberto Benzi, David Greilsammer, Alejandro Posada, Sascha Goetzel, Christoph Poppen, Miguel Gómez-Martínez, Alexander Liebreich, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Naoto Otomo, Isaak Karabchevsky, Guy Braunstein and more.
Participated in numerous international festivals such as Pacific Music Festival (PMF) in Japan, Zermatt Festival Academy in Switzerland (with members of the Berliner Philharmoniker), International Orchestra Institute Attergau, Austria (under the patronage of the Vienna Philharmonic), Gustav Mahler Academy in Bolzano Italy, Orchesterakademie Ossiach, The World Youth Orchestra in Italy, Music Masters Course in Japan (MMCJ), The Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra (SJSO), The Israeli Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and “Internationale Junge Orchesterakademie” in Germany.
Performances as soloist with the "Orchestre de la Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève" and the Israeli String Ensemble, Haifa, Israel.
After finishing his "Diplome de Soliste" and “Diplome d'enseignement – teaching diploma” with Prof. Jacques Zoon in the "Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève", Switzerland, continued his studies in the "Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia" in Madrid, Spain with Prof. Jacques Zoon and Assistant Prof. Aniela Frey, and received chamber music lessons with Prof. Hansjorg Schellenberger, Prof. Eduard Brunner and Prof. Radovan Vladkovic.
In the 2010/11 academic year was selected as a distinguished student and received a special diploma from Her Majesty Queen Sofía of Spain. Previous studies with Mr. Yossi Arnheim (principal flutist of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra) in the Buchman-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv, Israel and Mr. Shimon Weinrid.
Ory is currently teaching in the "International Amadeus School Vienna“ and served as a jury member in the FlavtIstra Festival and competition in Koper, Slovenia in November 2012 and invited yearly to teach as a professor in the summer music festival “Eduardo Ocon” in Mollina, Malaga, Spain since August 2013.
